Garden Renovation Dublin

Complete garden transformations, designed and built by one team

Your garden should be the best room in your house. If yours has become tired, overgrown, or simply doesn’t suit the way you live now, a full renovation can transform it into a space you’ll use all year round — for morning coffee, family weekends and summer evenings with friends.

At Gardenviews, we design and build complete garden renovations across Dublin. One team handles everything from the first sketch to the finished garden: design, groundworks, hard landscaping, planting, lighting and every detail in between. No juggling contractors, no gaps between trades — just a single point of contact and a garden delivered the way it was designed.

What a full garden renovation includes

Every garden is different, but a complete renovation typically covers:

  • Garden design and 3D visuals — so you see your finished garden before work begins
  • Groundworks, drainage and levelling — the foundations that make everything else last
  • Terracing and retaining walls — turning sloped and split-level gardens into usable space
  • Porcelain patios, pathways and steps — premium hard landscaping built to last decades
  • Pergolas and covered outdoor living areas — including louvred-roof systems for year-round use
  • Outdoor kitchens and dining spaces — from built-in barbecues to fully fitted kitchens
  • Lawns, raised beds and planting schemes — structured planting with mature specimens for immediate impact
  • Garden lighting design — integrated lighting that transforms the garden after dark
  • Fencing, screening and boundary work — privacy designed in, not added on

How we work

1.

Consultation and site visit. We walk your garden with you, talk through how you want to use the space, and discuss budget honestly from the start — so the design we create is one we can actually build for you.

2.

Design and 3D visualisation. Our designer develops a complete concept for your garden, presented with drawings and 3D visuals. We refine it together until it’s exactly right.

3.

Detailed quotation. Once the design is agreed, you receive a fully itemised, fixed quotation. You’ll know precisely what’s included before a single slab is laid.

4.

The build. Our own team carries out the work, typically over four to eight weeks depending on the scale of the project. We keep the site tidy, keep you informed, and keep to the plan.

5.

Handover and aftercare. We walk you through your finished garden — including planting care and lighting controls — and we’re on hand afterwards as the garden establishes.

What does a garden renovation cost?

Most complete garden renovations in Dublin fall between €35,000 and €70,000, with smaller single-zone refreshes starting around €20,000 and larger multi-level transformations from €70,000 upwards. The main factors are the size of your garden, access, levels, and the features and materials you choose.

We’ve written an honest, detailed breakdown of what each level of investment delivers — read our [2026 Dublin Garden Renovation Cost Guide] for realistic figures and budgeting advice. And when we meet, we’ll always give you a straight answer on what’s achievable with your budget.

Frequently asked questions

How long does a garden renovation take?

Most full renovations take four to eight weeks on site. Larger or multi-level projects can run ten weeks or more. The design stage beforehand typically takes three to five weeks.

Do I need planning permission?

Most garden renovations don’t require planning permission. Certain structures — high boundary walls, large raised decks, or work on protected structures — can, and we’ll advise you clearly if your project does.

Can we stay in the house during the work?

Yes. Renovations are carried out with minimal disruption, and we agree access arrangements with you before the build starts.

Can the project be phased?

Absolutely. We design the complete garden first, then build in stages if that suits your budget — installing foundations and ducting for future features so nothing has to be undone later.

We also have a modular service that has been created just for this purpose. See Modular Garden Design

What areas do you cover?

We renovate gardens across Dublin and the surrounding areas — recent projects include Malahide, Howth, Clontarf, Ranelagh, Templeogue and Portobello.
